TFH-1690 , Monte Vista, is another interesting Fig Hunter find. The mother tree was caught out of the corner of the eye while travelling at 70 mph on the interstate. The mother tree grows under an overpass, in a dry creekbed. Its a lanky, bush-style tree, spans from one side of the overpass to the other.
Monte Vista is a dark fig, with a thin, supple skin that peels right off. The flavor is a slight berry tang, that is not overly sweet, but more light and refreshing. It bears almost no seed crunch, and it a beautiful gelatinous texture when fully ripe.
