Pluot was a 2019 Bay Area find, that was only very limitedly sold until now. The mother tree was found in an abandoned lot where an industrial complex meets a residential neighborhood, with coastal views to the west.
Pluot gets its name, for its likeness to the visual appearance and flavor of a purple pluot. This is a fairly prolific fig, with a deep purple skin that "pops" when you bite in to it. The interior is juicy with a nice seed crunch, and stonefruit undertones.
