Shasta Strawberry is a new favorite, found in an open lot growing at the base of a large oak tree. The skin of this fig is slightly chewy, but not overly so. The interior is a beautiful bright red, gelatinous and crunchy, with a strawberry flavor that is reminiscent of those little hard candies wrapped up to look like little strawberries.
